For the birds. For the trails. For tomorrow.
Help connect Western New Yorkers to nature
Buffalo Audubon's Winter Giving Campaign is in full swing.
Our goal is to improve community engagement with fellow Western New Yorkers for all the best reasons - to increase their curiosity about nature, create future environmental stewards, and get people outside to reap the tremendous physical and mental health benefits.
The news on this front is encouraging. You've likely seen that birding has dramatically risen in popularity across all ages and demographics. Perhaps you've heard the new phrase touching grass, to describe intentional connection to the outdoors? It's been a breakout search on Google. And Western New Yorkers are finally understanding that time spent outdoors is so much more than just being outside. It’s time spent decompressing, reducing anxiety, and improving wellness and happiness.
With curiosity piqued, this is our time. Will you help us respond?
We have a shared responsibility to engage, educate, and inspire our community, and foster a new generation of environmentalists. And we can do it through immersive activities and education programs for people of all ages and backgrounds.
If you haven’t yet participated in a program, this is a great opportunity to escape the winter doldrums! We’d love to see you for a drop-in visit, hiking, snowshoeing, or participating in a program. Here is our program calendar.
Thank you for instilling the love you have for nature, birds, and other wildlife in Western New Yorkers, and future generations.
