Support Our Summer Of Impact

And make a difference, locally

It’s the best time of the year.

Trillium Nature Center is brimming with new energy and life. Like you, we appreciate all that spring and summer bring to Beaver Meadow—wildflowers are budding and blooming, pollinators are diligently working, fledglings have taken flight, school field trips are in full swing, and hikers are enjoying the serenity of the trails.

It’s also the busiest time of the year.

Most people assume that nature is simply doing what she does best to offer us the calming and restorative outdoor experiences we all need. However, substantial work happens behind the scenes to ensure the Beaver Meadow preserve remains healthy, safe, balanced, and accessible for all of our visitors.

This campaign is intentionally running to coincide with Buffalo Audubon’s need for support, and we hope you will choose to help.

A gift from you today will help control the rapidly growing and invasive multiflora rose and amur honeysuckle that interfere with our local ecosystem. Without manual removal now, it will choke out native understory trees and shrubs. You will also help monitor bird boxes for successful nesting of native bird species, clear trees from trails downed by wind and rainstorms, and prepare for summer nature camp. Your donation will help care for Zelda and other resident turtles and snakes that cannot be released back to the wild. And you will help tend gardens, support meadow management programs, and fill feeders to draw birds closer to the nature center for observation and learning.

Please help keep Trillium Nature Center and Beaver Meadow healthy and vibrant.

I invite you to visit the nature center to experience the beauty of summer firsthand, and to show you all you’re making possible. I’m also available to meet for coffee in the community, if that is easier. Contact me at lynn@buffaloudubon.org or 585-457-3228. I hope you’ll reach out!

In gratitude,

Lynn Westcott, Buffalo Audubon Director of Development
